Day 150

Woke up bright and early this morning to go volunteer with my family. My dad, little brother (Jiten aka Kid) and I helped out at Open Hand by delivering meals to those who can't make meals for themselves. Kid drove, dad gave us directions, and I took the meals out. We had a great system and were able to get all our meals delivered in an hour and 30minutes!

150 days in and it's clear that I love doing this! But having my family come out to volunteer with me made it so much more meaningful - thanks dad and Kid!!

Get involved, get your family and friends involved - priceless!!

Day 141

I stopped at SafeHouse for a little while this evening. The kids were back today and were playing ball, chasing pigeons, and having a lot of fun. One of the little girls came up to me to show me her awards from school - she was so excited! And everyone was excited for her. You sometimes get a strong sense of family from the people there, and today it was evident. Everyone gave her hugs and told her how proud they are of her. Some even told her that they knew she would always be a straight A student.

It was refreshing seeing that today. Relationships are important to ALL of us and the bonds of family cannot be denied.

Happy giving!
